The E-mail is one of the most widely
used services available on the Internet. Special
programs are used to send and receive messages
like: Microsoft outlook, outlook express,
Netscape mail, Gmail and yahoo mail.
E-mail message is an electronic message sent
from one computer to another over a network,
which ranges from local area networks to the
Internet with high speed and low cost. You can
send or receive personal and business-related messages with attachments, such as
pictures or formatted documents. You can even send music and computer
programs.
E-Mail Characteristics:
1. It's fast, easy and much cheaper than the using the post office.
2. Can be sent to an individual or a group.
3. You can create mailing lists and send the same message to a number of
peoples.
4. You can send text, sound and images and spread sheet files as attachments.
How Does E-Mail Work
1. Use E-mail program to write messages, and
be online to send the messages.
2. Your ISP will deliver every message to the
standard protocol used for sending.
3. E-mail is called SMTP (Simple Mail
Transfer Protocol server) this server looks
at the e-mail address, then forwards it to
recipient’s ISP. When the recipient checks
for mail, it is downloaded from the ISP’s
computer. You can send e-mail anywhere in
the world to anyone who has e-mail address.

E-Mail Addresses
When you sign up with an ISP,
a unique E-mail address is allocated to you.
E-mail addresses characteristics:
1. It is usually written in small letters.
2. Does not contain any spaces.
3. The @ symbol connect a user’s name With the domain name, as in this
figure.
4. The part of address before @ cannot be the same for two people.
Opening the free mail
To open free mails do the following:

1. Double click on the Internet explorer icon on desktop
2. Open yahoo search engine from the address box by writing
(www.yahoo.com) and click Go button.
3. Click Mail button from yahoo window.
4. Or Search to the yahoo mail site as in the following figure.

How do I sign up?
To sign up for Yahoo personalized services, just follow the instructions for
new users on the sign-in page of any of
Yahoo!'s personalized services
During registration, you'll be asked to choose a Yahoo! ID and pick a
password.
ID (Identification): user name.
Please Note: Your Yahoo! ID cannot contain special characters or spaces. Once
you've signed up, you can use this same ID and password for

Your Yahoo! password will always apply to your entire Yahoo! account. This
means that it will be valid not only for Yahoo! Mail, but also for Yahoo!
Messenger, Yahoo! Chat, My Yahoo!, Yahoo! Finance, and all of Yahoo!'s other
personalized services.
Please Note: To better protect your account, make sure that your password is
memorable for you but difficult for others to guess. Never use the same password
that you have used in the past, and do not share your password with anyone. For
security purposes, your new password must be a minimum of six characters long.
A good password contains a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters,
numbers, and special characters such as +, ?, and *.
How do I sign in?
After open the yahoo mail window do the following
1. Enter the ID that you type in the registration.
2. Enter the correct password.
3. Click sign in button.
