Comedo DCIS fills several adjacent ducts and is characterized by large central zones of necrosis with calcified debris. This type of DCIS is most frequently detected as radiologic calcifications.

DCIS comedo-type
This is characterized by the presence of rapidly proliferating, high-grade malignant cells with prominent central necrosis.Paget disease nipple
Eczema-like hyperemic and eroded appearance of Paget's disease.Gross appearance of Paget's disease of the nipple. There was underlying carcinoma.
Paget disease nipple
LP views of Paget disease. The cleft-like separation between the tumor cells and the overlying squamous epithelium is characteristic.HP views of Paget disease. The cleft-like separation between the tumor cells and the overlying squamous epithelium is characteristic.
A monomorphic population of small, rounded, loosely cohesive cells fills and expands the acini of a lobule. The underlying lobular architecture can still be recognized.
Lobular carcinoma in situ
Note the irregular margins and varied cut surface. The margins of the specimen have been inked with green dye following removal to assist in determining whether cancer extends to the margins once histologic sections are made.
Inasive ductal carcinoma breast
Typical gross appearance of invasive ductal carcinoma. Note the irregular (crab-like) shape of the tumor, white fibrous appearance, and chalky streaks. Retraction of the overlying skin is obvious in the specimen shown in B.
The margin of a cancer of the breast revealing tumorous infiltration of the adjacent fatty tissue (right).
Invasive ductal ca (NOS)
Invasive duct ca with its in situ component of comedo type
Desmoplastic stromal reaction characterized by proliferation of fibroblasts in a fibrous stroma with dense eosinophilic collagen fibers in relation to trabeculae of cancer cellsInasive ductal carcinoma breast
Inasive ductal carcinoma breast: angiolymphatic invasion
Carcinoma of the left breast. F/60. A small lump was palpable, and when the hands were raised above the head tethering to the skin was accentuated (arrow).Invasive carcinoma breast
Note the gross cutaneous changes associated with an underlying carcinoma of breast. These are due to dermal lymphatic invasion by carcinoma that has resulted in the grossly thickened, erythematous, and rough skin surface with the appearance of an orange peel ("peau d'orange").
Inflammatory carcinoma
Inflammatory carcinoma with malignant cells in the dermal lymphatics, which are associated with lymphocytic infiltration and stromal edema
