THE AXILLA
It’s a pyramid-shaped space lies between the upper part of the arm and the side of the chest.The apex:-The base:-Walls of the axilla:-1-anterior wall.2-posterior wall.3-medial wall.4-lateral wall.CONTENTS OF THE AXILLA:-
The axillary lymph nodes:-1-the lateral groups. 2-the pectoral groups. 3-the subscapular groups. 4-the central groups. 5-the apical groups.
The axillary artery
It’s a direct continuation of the subclavian artery at the outer border of the 1st rib.Its divided in to three parts according to its relation to pectoralis minor muscle:-1- the 1st part:-Branches:-Superior thoracic artery.2- 2nd part:
Branches:- 1- thoracoacromial artery. 2-lateral thoracic artery. 3- 3rd part Branches:- 1-subscapular artery circumflex scapular artery. thoracodorsal artery. 2-anterior circumflex artery. 3-posterior circumflex artery.Teres major Origin:- Insertion:- Action:- Nerve supply:- Teres minor Origin:- Insertion:- Action:- Nerve supply:-
