Types of suffixes: 1- Noun suffix : e.g. Thyroidectomy : removal of thyroid2-Pronoun suffix : mean the one who practice *(ist) , e.g. Pathologist *(er) e.g. Radiographer *(or) e.g. abductor3- Adjective suffix : means pertaining to & suffix are(iac, ic, ac, al, etc.)e.g. cardiac, hemic(sis) :process or infection , e.g autolysis , tuberculosis( less) without e.g. stainless

2- prefixes indicating positionectoderm:outer layer of developing embryo.* ecto or ect= outside, derm =skine.* endoderm = inner layer of developing embryo , endo(prefix) =inner or inside* hypo =under , e.g. hypochondrium*peri (prefix) =around , e.g. periorbital* acro =tip or extremity e.g. acrocyanosis

4-prefixes describing direction*Ab= away or move away (abduction) * Ad = toward or move toward (adduction)*Dextro right ( Dextrocardia)*Levo = left (levorotation)
5- prefixes indicating number or quantity*Bi =two (bifurcation)*Diplo =double (diplopia)*Mono =monozygot* Tri = three (triplet pregnancy)*Hemi =half (hemiplegia)*multi =multiple (multinucleated cell)*semi = half (semilunar valve)

6- prefixes denoting size*micro =small (microcytic anemia)*macro =large (macrocephaly)*brachy =short
