DX : PITYRIASIS VERSICOLOR

DDX: vitiligo
Rx : 1) topical antifungal (Ketoconazole shampoo, Clotrimazole) . sys antifungal (fluconazole.).
DX: psoriasis vulgaris
Description : an erythematous well defined plaque about 2*4cm covered by thick chalky scale .
DDX :
1)pityriasis rosea . 2)
Allergic Contact Dermatitis. 3) seborrhic dermatitis .
Rx : 1) Localized: topical steroids and calcipotriene . 2) Systemic( methotrexate , cyclosporine ).
DX : GUTTETE PSORIASIS
DESCRIPTION : multiple pink to salmon plaque like tear drop located on the trunk of body covered by white
scale.
DDX : pityriasis rosea .
Rx : Ultraviolet B phototherapy, natural sunlight.
Dx : koebner phenomenon
Description : linear erythematous plaque covered by white scale with multiple erythematous plaque around it .
Caused : by trauma
Occur mainly : in 1) psoriasis . 2)plane warts . 3) vitiligo .
Note : you should describe the disease that present with koebner .

DX : urticaria
Description: ((1)) multiple edematous and erythematous plaque ( wheal ) which is rounded in shape , the largest
one is 4*4 cm and the smallest on is 1*2 cm located on the trunk of body .
((2)) multiple ill defined edematous pink plaque (wheal ) on the ant.abdomen which vary in size .
DDX : 1)
Erythema Multiforme .2)
Allergic contact dermatitis
RX: 1)
Topical Treatment usually CALAMIN lotion . 2) systemic (steroid like hydrocortisone )
3) H-1 antihistamine (diphenhydramine) and
H-2 antihistamine (ranitidine).
Way to exam : General: CBP, ESR and Skin test.

which covered by scale and some crust taking the shape of shoes .
DDX: 1) Asteatotic eczema (dry skin). 2) Atopic dermatitis .3) Psoriasis.
Rx :1) Avoiding Irritants and Allergens , 2) Topical corticosteroids . 3) systemic (cyclosporine), antihistamines.
Way to exam : skin biopsy and patching test .
Dx : Tinea pedis .

Way of examine : Clinical evaluation and KOH wet amount
Dx : tinea mannum or corporis .
Description : well defined multiple erythematous patch located on the dorsum of the hand with active border and
some scale cover the root of the thumb and little figure .
DDX: erythema multiform
RX : TOPICAL AZOLE AND SYSTEMIC AZOLE .
DX : tinea mannum OR corporis
Description : an erythematous plaque with an active border and healing center on the dorsum and palm of hand
covered by scale .
Rx : 1) Topical antifungals (ointments and gels) – terbinafine. 2)
Oral antifungals (terbinafine).
Way to exam : KOH AND culture
DX : tinea cruris .

DDx : scapies , Measles
Rx : treat fever and itching and isolation and antiviral drug (acyclovir)
Way of exam : blood tests or a culture of lesion samples.
Complication :

Complication : scarring and eczema , impetigo .
Dx : impetigo .

Rx : topical (hydroquinone ,retinoid , azelaic acid ) and laser tx .
Dx : erythema multiform .
