Two types– HIT type I and Type II.
In general, the term HIT issued widely to refer HIT Type II, the immune form.Presence of any of the following:
Otherwise unexplained thrombocytopenia
Venous / arterial thromboses associated with thrombocytopenia
A fall in platelet count of 50% or more from a prior value,
even if absolute Thrombocytopenia is not present.
Necrotic skin lesions at heparin injection site
Acute systemic (anaphylactoid) reactions occurring after IV
heparin bolus.
