Shear Design of Slabs
The flat slab and flat plate shall be designed to resist two types of shear: one-way (beam
shear) and two-way (punching shear) forces.
The critical section for two-way slab shear is located according to ACI 22.6.4.

The one-way shear strength of slabs is calculated according the provision of ACI 22.5.5.1.
The shear strength of two-way slab is calculated according the provisions of ACI 22.6.
