





















Reptilia:
The skin is dry or contain very scarce gland,
quite distinct from the skin of amphibia and
mammals; that are well adapted to the life on
dry land. The epidermis covered with horny
epidermal scales.
The dermis consists of connective tissue.



Aves :
They are only animals which posses feather which
like the horny scale of reptilia. The epidermis is
thin layer while the dermis is thicker and contain
follicle of feather.
There are no glands except the uropygial gland in
the tail .its secretion used by bird to preen its
feathers.



Mammalian:
The skin of mammals contains some glands
like sebaceous gland and sweat gland, and
the color of skin refer to presence of melano
cell in the epidermis.

The epidermis is thicker than dermis and consist of five layers
:-
Stratum cornium
Stratum lucidum.
Stratum granulosum.
Stratum spinosum.
Stratum germinativum.
The dermis consists of two layers:-
Outer layer: Loose connective tissue.
Inner layer: compact connective tissue.
