Hand Infection
Causes :
1. Trauma
2. Wound (open, penetrating)
3. Blood
it is direct infection by bacteria(G+,G-,unaerobic)
Clinical presentation :
1. Redness ,tender, swelling ,loss of function.
2. Red streaks.
3. L.N.
Treatment :
1. Rest
2. Elevation
3. Antibiotics
4. If late: Drainage UGA
5. EARLY mobilization
Paronychia :
Infection of nail bed , fold
ACUTE : by G+ ,swelling ,pus
RX : Antibiotics ,drainage
CHRONIC: fungal
RX : local antifungal ,systemic

Pulp space infection :
Direct penetrating injury
Throbbing pain
Rx : drainage
Viral infecton :
It is herpes simplex
Pain ,crusty ,vesicles
Rx no surgery only if abscess
Tenosinovitis :
1. Acute pyogenic infection of finger
2. Swelling spindle shape
3. Rx drainage ,antibiotic and irrigation
of tendon sheath

Osteomylitis :
1. Trauma
2. Neglected person
3. Rx antibiotics and if pus,drainage.
Pilonidal sinus :
1. In the web space of barber
2. Treated by excision of cyst containing hair.
Web space infection :
treated by drainage
